How to Speak and Understand Arabic easily using top 10 guidelines

Arabic is one of the very easy languages to learn. It has a unique script. Its word formations are simple. The sentence formation is logical and straight forward. When you learn Arabic you will not confuse it with other languages because of its uniqueness, making it easy to remember.
Before stepping into the learning part you should follow these 10 guidelines to make the process of learning simple and fast.

1) Remove any blocks you have in  your mind regarding Arabic

Arabic like any other language was formed so that one person can understand and comprehend what the other is saying in such a manner that the listener can form the same picture that is in the heart of the speaker, ie. understand exactly what the speaker intends to say. To do that one has to have simple means of communication. Arabic does it in a very simple and precise way, you will know very soon after you learn to speak and understand the language.

2) When you learn a word in Arabic attach it to a picture.

Visualize every word you learn in Arabic by connecting it to a picture. Like when you learn the word 'tuffha' which means apple attach it to the picture of an apple. Do not attach with the word apple in English or the word for apple in any other languages. That why it would make it easier for you to learn and form sentences later on.

3) In the same way freeze a picture to remember an action or activity.

When you have to remember a sentence, in your mind make a movie of the sentence in action and freeze it at such a point when whatever is mentioned in the sentence is on the screen and you can  remember it easily. eg. 'The man catches the ball.' Visualize a man throwing the ball. Don't stop there, go on see the ball travelling through the air and the other man catching it. Freeze it there. You will get all the aspects of the above sentence in that scene.

4) Memorize with Group Picture

Especially in your learning process now, memorize in groups. eg. when you want to memorize the names of fruits visualize a fruit basket with all the fruits you want to memorize. Remember where each fruit is in the fruit basket and just get that picture out when you want to say the name of any of the fruit.

5) Don't imitate the unique pronunciations of some letters

In Arabic the pronunciations of some letters are very unique. Please use a similar pronunciation in your language don't stress yourself with getting the exact pronunciation now, that will hinder in your learning of the language, which is our main intention. We can get the pronunciation right once you get the hang of the language.

6) Use the words and sentences you learn in your day to day life

When you are picking up a book. Let the word 'kitab' come to your mind if your are learning words. If you are learning sentence. Frame a sentence of you picking up the book in your mind. Even if you have nobody to talk to in Arabic. This mental exercise will sharpen your Arabic language skills.

7) Set a TARGET

The words and sentences in this site is set such that you can learn the same in 15 days. (The regular updating will be done under the heading ADDITIONS). But you may take a maximum of 30 days to learn the same. But not more than that. Else it would show lack of enthusiasm on your part. And anything without enthusiasm will not yield any results. You will come back to right where you started.

8) Play a game

Play a game for a day (If you like you can fix certain hours for the game). First decide on if it is a word day or a sentence day. On word day you play with words. On a sentence day you play with sentences. Alternate it or arrange it any manner you like. So on a word day, in your mind make a big picture of a fixed number of pegs with each peg having a number on it. You decide how many pegs you want for the day. The day begins start the game, the first thing you touch, think the word for it in Arabic, you get it. Put it on the first peg. You see something you remember its word for it Arabic. Put it on the second peg. If you get all your pegs full by evening you win. If you don't you lose. Do the same with sentences.

9) Use Arabic as a code language

Learn Arabic with one or many of your friends. So that when you are in a bigger group you can communicate in  Arabic and others will not understand what you are talking about.

10) Teach Others

If you teach one or many people what you have learnt, you will learn faster. It will give you more insight into Arabic language and give you the confidence to speak. At the same time you can experiment with your Arabic skills like you do in front of the mirror. Here the other person will be your mirror.
